The Roane County Board of Education recently adopted a school calendar for 2021-22. Teachers and staff will start back on Monday, August 9, while students in grades Kindergarten through 12th return on Wednesday, August 18.
Unlike the 2020-21 school year, we do not anticipate starting in "phases," nor will "distance learning days" be scheduled. All in-person students will return five-days-per-week.
Important Dates
- First day for students (K - 12): Wednesday, August 18
- First day for students (PK): Monday, August 23
- Last day for students (PK): Thursday, May 19*
- Last day for students (K - 12): Wednesday, May 25*
Breaks
- Black Walnut Festival: Thursday, October 14 (students off) & Friday, October 15 (no school)
- Thanksgiving: Monday, November 22, through Friday, November 26
- Christmas & New Year: Monday, December 20, through Friday, December 31
- Spring Break: March 28 - April 1
Faculty Senate meetings (two-hour early dismissal for student)
- Friday, December 17
- Monday, February 21 (Presidents Day)
- Friday, April 15 (Good Friday)
- Wednesday, May 25 (Last day for students [K - 12])
