Parent / Teacher Conferences
Hello, this is Mr. Epling, Principal of Roane County High School, hoping that your Thanksgiving break is continuing to be positive for you and your family.
Another reason for this call is to let everyone know that we are having a Parent/Teacher conference and Family Engagement night on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Between 5 and 7 PM, parents are invited to meet their child’s teachers to gain valuable information about academic progress. Roane County Family Health Care and Westbrook Health will also be in attendance with important information for families.
Any student who attends with a parent will be entered for door prizes, including a Samsung Smart TV.
Interested parents and guardians are invited to reach out to teachers via Schoology or email to arrange a meeting time.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING - RCHS will continue its after school tutoring when we return from Thanksgiving break. The activity bus continues to leave RCHS at 6:30 in the evenings, so if a student does not have a ride home, the activity bus could be an option. RCHS teachers want to assist students in being more successful in the classrooms. See the attached document.
How about some GIVE and TAKE this weekend ?
You can GIVE to goodwill - donation trailer is set up beside the greenhouse. Donate items you feel would be helpful to others through Goodwill Industries (see attached flier). This weekend (Thursday evening - Sunday afternoon) would be the perfect time. Perhaps on the way to Friday night's football game where you can watch the Raiders TAKE the ballgame from North Marion . This is a good opportunity to help RCHS help others.
SCHOOLOGY PARENT CODE - We have found that some parents have mistakenly created a parent account by using their children's credentials. We are sure this was done by mistake due to incorrect info . It is important that the parent account be an actual "Parent Account". If you contact your teachers or school administration, we can get you the proper code and info that will allow you to create a Schoology Parent Account.
FANS - we will continue with the digital ticketing for this week. All fans should enter through the commons to redeem your ticket from GoFan. If you need to purchase tickets at this time we will have iPads ready for this, or you can use your own smartphone. The AG corner will allow ticket redemption for any Stadium Pass or Handicap tag parking. The Lick Fork side will help with ticket redemption for anyone who parks at the softball complex and walks up the hill. The shuttle busses will drop fans off at the main door to enter the facility.
Please note that canopies are NOT PERMITTED in the stadium for the upcoming game. They interfere with coaching and officiating. Sorry for any confusion this may cause, but CANOPIES are not allowed.
RCHS vs North Marion HS - Digital Ticketing
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE - On Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 5 - 7 pm, RCHS will host a parent teacher conference. This is a GREAT WAY for parents and guardians to touch base with their child's teachers and ask important question related to academics or other topics. We invite ALL parents to attend. Students that attend with a parent or guardian will be entered to win 1 of 3 prizes. Not all teachers will be available so parents are asked to reach out to the teachers via Schoology message or email (staff emails available on school website). Contact a teacher to set a time.
REMINDER - All fans will enter the school at the main door. We will have iPads available for any fan who needs to purchase a ticket (remember you will need a debit or credit card - NO CASH). Volunteers will be in the commons to assist all with redeeming on line tickets. Those fans who have the Stadium Pass will have to redeem tickets near the MEATS LAB before driving up to the field. Those who park at the softball field and walk up the hill will find volunteers to assist with redeeming tickets. RCHS looks forward to packing the stadium for the first home playoff game since 2011 - BRING THE NOISE !!!!

DIGITAL TICKET CODE
The WV State Police will be hosting multiple Law Enforcement agencies for "Active Shooter" training with help from a team from LSU. This training will be at the school Tuesday - Friday of this week from 4 - midnight.

October 27, the 2022 RCHS Choir will be presenting their fall concert at 6:30 PM in the RCHS auditorium. This concert is a tribute to our “Home”, whether you think of West Virginia, Roane County, or even RCHS! We will also have several solos featuring choir members. There will be no charge to enter, but there will be an opportunity to give donations. We appreciate any and all support from our family, friends, and community! Come out and support us!“
