Notice of Intent to Submit an Application for 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant for the 2025-2026 School Year
Per the application guidelines, Roane County Schools is informing the community of our intention to apply for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant.
If awarded this grant, we will be providing summer programming in the summer of 2026, and extended after school programming in the 2025-26 school year. This programs will be focused on improving literacy and numeracy in grades K through 3 as well as provide assistance to students and families experiencing homelessness and/or living in foster care.

Roane County Schools Celebrates the Arts
#ONE Arts Show - Friday, April 4 @ 5:00 pm in the RCHS Commons


Its Preschool Registration time! Children who will be four years old before July 1, 2025 are invited to register for the 2025-26 Roane County Schools Universal PreK Program, a collaborative effort between Roane County Schools and Appalachian Council Head Start. Families may call the RCS Board of Education at 304.927.6400 for an appointment time and to obtain a registration packet.


Due to poor road conditions, Roane County Schools will conduct a non-traditional instructional (NTI) day today, Thursday, February 20, 2025.
On non-traditional instructional days, schools are closed and students work from home with those who can accessing lessons through an online platform like Schoology.
This is our fifth of five possible NTI days this school year. NTI days are used to avoid having to make up days later in the school year or in June.

Roane County Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, February 20, 2025, due to overnight freezing temperatures and the possibility of additional snowfall.
