Parent participation in the survey is very important. If parents have questions about the survey or problems completing the survey, they should contact their child's school. We are having our Annual Title I Meeting on October 17, 2023 at 5:00 PM. We would like to have your input on different activities that we will offer during the school year. Come out and Join Us!
End of the 1st nine weeks is approaching. Report cards will be coming home the 18th of October.
Students have a yellow communication folder with grade level newsletter that comes home every Monday. If your child has any makeup work, it needs to be turned into the teacher no later than October 11th.

This week September 18-22 is Homecoming Week. Everyday has a theme and we are working hard to show our school spirit. The themes are as follows:
Manic Monday- wear your school appropriate pajamas
Tie-Dye Tuesday- wear your tie-dye to school
Win Wednesday- wear your yellow jacket gear or blue and gold
Tailored Thursday- wear your best for the day
Future Raider Friday- wear your Raider gear or maroon and silver.
Wednesday we will be playing GW AT 6:30, before the game we will be recognizing all fall sports (volleyball, soccer, and football) and at half time we will be crowning our Miss Yellow Jacket. I hope to see everyone supporting SMS.

Students in grades K through 12th can enroll full-time in the Roane County Virtual School. You need not be a Roane County resident to enroll.
Students must have earned a 2.0 GPA or higher and not miss more than 5 unexcused absences in the previous school year.

Please come out and help us raise some money for our students. Also, Monday starts our state testing kick off. Tomorrow is Favorite Sport Day, Get Your Game Face On for the test. Our 8th grade students will be visiting the Roane Jackson Technical Center on Tuesday, April 18th from 8:20-11:45. They will be introduced to the curriculum that is offered there. Then from 4:00-6:00 students with the last name A-L will finalize student's freshman year course requests. On Thursday, April 20th from 4:00-6:00 the students with the last name M-Z will finalize student's freshman year course requests.

Tickets are 10 dollars for adults and 5 dollars for children. The menu will be Spaghetti, Garden Salad, Garlic Bread, Drink and Dessert. Spencer Middle School would like to invite all students and families to join us for our Reading Fair and Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 7th, from 5:00-6:30 in the SMS playroom. We will have Public viewing of the reading fair projects, Bingo for Books, Dr. Seuss "Guesstimation" and the awards will be at 6:15 PM. Please plan to come out and enjoy the evening with us.
