Geary Elementary/Middle School

Parents/Guardians of Middle School Students: On Monday, November 17th, middle school students will ride the bus to Spencer Middle School, enjoy breakfast, and kick off the morning with fun games and activities alongside students from the other county middle schools. After that, everyone will head to Roane County High School to enjoy a live play performance. Once the play wraps up, students and staff will return to SMS for lunch and an afternoon filled with more activities.

Middle School Students will board buses 13 and 49 at Geary at 7:20 on Monday to be transported to Spencer. Students who are normally dropped off will need to be on the sidewalk and ready to board by 7:20. Students will be in Spencer for the entire day and will board buses Monday afternoon to be transported home. Student will not need to bring any materials or backpacks with them.

Hello Geary families! This coming Monday, November 10th, we will be having our Veteran's Day Concert. Doors open at 12:15 and the performance starts at 12:30. Please have your child dress in red, white, and blue. Additionally, all Veterans are invited to attend and enjoy the performance.

Geary School staff would like to inform you that if you have a child that rides bus 13, there will be only be one evening bus run at 4 pm on May 28th and 29th due to field trips. If you have any questions please call the school.

Good evening, Geary has two announcements: First Announcement: Middle School Parents: On Friday, May 16 at 6 pm, we will be having our athletic sports banquet. If your child participated in middle school sports this year, please come out and celebrate their success. If you plan to attend, please send your form back in, so that we can get an accurate number for food. Second Announcement: All Parents: The PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 @ 2:30. We will be discussing plans for next year and reviewing our Family Engagement Policy.

Just a reminder, We will be taking class pictures tomorrow at Geary. If you would like your child to receive a class picture, please send in your order form with $10. If you have any questions, please call the school, 304-565-3721.

Just a Reminder: At this time, we are unable to have a yearbook; however, class pictures will be taken on Thursday, May 15, 2025. If you would like a class picture for your child, please send the order form back with 10 dollars. Order forms were included in this month's newsletter. Reminder Notice: Geary School will be having an LSIC meeting on Thursday, May 15 @ 5:00 pm in the cafeteria. We will be discussing next years schedule and reviewing the Title 1 Monitoring Document.. Please plan to attend.

Good Evening, This is a reminder that students will be taking the West Virginia Summative Assessment and the iReady Diagnostic beginning tomorrow and going through the 16th. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest. We are excited to see how much progress they have made through out this year! Results will be posted today for students who auditioned for the talent show and will be performing on May 22nd. They will be receiving a permission slip to stay after school for rehearsal, information for late bus or pick up, expectations for rehearsals, and a rehearsal schedule. Good evening, We wanted to send out a reminder that kindergarten students will be working remotely tomorrow due to kindergarten registration for next year. Learning packets were sent home with all kindergarten students today. Please work with your child to complete the packet materials. Thank you and have a great evening.

Geary School has one announcement. Thursday, May 1st at 3:00 pm in the cafeteria will be our middle school ensembles concert. If any parents are unable to attend, the students may ride the late bus home. Performance dress for the concert will be for the boys: solid color collard shirt, nice pants with no holes, for girls: solid color nice top, nice pants with no holes. We hope to see you there! This is a notice that Geary Elementary Middle School had a practice fire drill today. Throughout the year we will have emergency drill practices to prepare in case of a true emergency. Roane County Schools will offer Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year on Friday, May 2, 2025.  All students who are not currently enrolled in RCS PreK are encouraged to attend the Kindergarten registration event for next year.  Students may register for Kindergarten by calling or visiting their home school (Walton, Geary, or Spencer Elementary) to schedule an appointment on Friday, May 2 from 8:30 to 3:00.  Parents should bring the child’s original certificate of live birth, a copy of the child’s immunization record, and a copy of the child’s last well-child physical exam completed by a doctor.  Geary Number is 304.565.3721
