Good Evening, This is a reminder that students will be taking the West Virginia Summative Assessment and the iReady Diagnostic beginning tomorrow and going through the 16th. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest. We are excited to see how much progress they have made through out this year! Results will be posted today for students who auditioned for the talent show and will be performing on May 22nd. They will be receiving a permission slip to stay after school for rehearsal, information for late bus or pick up, expectations for rehearsals, and a rehearsal schedule. Good evening, We wanted to send out a reminder that kindergarten students will be working remotely tomorrow due to kindergarten registration for next year. Learning packets were sent home with all kindergarten students today. Please work with your child to complete the packet materials. Thank you and have a great evening.

Geary School has one announcement. Thursday, May 1st at 3:00 pm in the cafeteria will be our middle school ensembles concert. If any parents are unable to attend, the students may ride the late bus home. Performance dress for the concert will be for the boys: solid color collard shirt, nice pants with no holes, for girls: solid color nice top, nice pants with no holes. We hope to see you there! Parents, We were able to get a bus driver for bus 13, they are on the way home and will be approximately 30 minutes late. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Please call the school with questions.

Roane County Schools will offer Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year on Friday, May 2, 2025.  All students who are not currently enrolled in RCS PreK are encouraged to attend the Kindergarten registration event for next year.  Students may register for Kindergarten by calling or visiting their home school (Walton, Geary, or Spencer Elementary) to schedule an appointment on Friday, May 2 from 8:30 to 3:00.  Parents should bring the child’s original certificate of live birth, a copy of the child’s immunization record, and a copy of the child’s last well-child physical exam completed by a doctor.  Geary Number is 304.565.3721

Good Morning Geary Families, This Friday, April 11 is Preschool Registration Day at the Spencer Armory. Please call the Roane County Board of Education @ 304-927-6400 to schedule an appointment and obtain a registration packet. This is not a walk-in event, an appointment has to be made. If you have a child or know someone who has a child that will be 4 before July 1, please schedule an appointment. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Good evening, We have 3 announcements First announcement, the literacy fair will be held on Monday, April 7th. Award ribbons will be awarded and projects will be available for viewing during Parent/Teacher conferences from 4-6 pm. Students may take home their projects after conferences. Second announcement, 7th and 8th grade band will be traveling to Williamstown Middle High School on Wednesday, April 9th to participate in State Band Ratings Festival and Adjudication. They have received a permission slip that needs returned by Friday of this week. This is a formal event, students will need nice black pants, all black shoes, black socks, and a collared white shirt. Girls may wear nice black leggings and a nice all white blouse instead. If there is any trouble getting these items let Mr. Metzger know by Friday of this week. The bus will be leaving at 7:30 am and will be back before 2 pm. More information is available on the permission slip. 3rd announcement - 5th grade families. This Friday is the county arts show. Arrive at the high school by 5 pm. We will be performing at 5:30 pm. Students and families are requested to stay in attendance for the entire performance. Dress for the performance is nice blue jeans and a school shirt. This could just be a yellow or black T-shirt or one that says GEMS in some way. Parents/Guardians, A letter and permission form was sent home today with all middle school students. Mission WV will be presenting the THINK Program which covers youth development topics required topics by the West Virginia Department of Education. Please review this letter and send the permission form back to school tomorrow, April 1, 2025 to state whether you want your child to participate in the THINK lessons. Thank you

The end of the 3rd 9 weeks was March 21, 2025. The 4th 9 weeks begin March 31, 2025. Please expect report cards to be sent home on April 2, 2025. Enjoy your Spring Break!

Good Evening, Geary staff would like to invite everyone to come out to our Bingo Bonanza on March 14, 2025 at Geary School. The doors will open at 4:30 pm and the games begin at 6 pm.
