We have 3 announcements
First announcement, the literacy fair will be held on Monday, April 7th. Award ribbons will be awarded and projects will be available for viewing during Parent/Teacher conferences from 4-6 pm. Students may take home their projects after conferences.
Second announcement, 7th and 8th grade band will be traveling to Williamstown Middle High School on Wednesday, April 9th to participate in State Band Ratings Festival and Adjudication. They have received a permission slip that needs returned by Friday of this week. This is a formal event, students will need nice black pants, all black shoes, black socks, and a collared white shirt. Girls may wear nice black leggings and a nice all white blouse instead. If there is any trouble getting these items let Mr. Metzger know by Friday of this week. The bus will be leaving at 7:30 am and will be back before 2 pm. More information is available on the permission slip.
3rd announcement - 5th grade families. This Friday is the county arts show. Arrive at the high school by 5 pm. We will be performing at 5:30 pm. Students and families are requested to stay in attendance for the entire performance. Dress for the performance is nice blue jeans and a school shirt. This could just be a yellow or black T-shirt or one that says GEMS in some way. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Metzger.

A letter and permission form was sent home today with all middle school students. Mission WV will be presenting the THINK Program which covers youth development topics required topics by the West Virginia Department of Education. Please review this letter and send the permission form back to school tomorrow, April 1, 2025 to state whether you want your child to participate in the THINK lessons. Thank you
The end of the 3rd 9 weeks was March 21, 2025. The 4th 9 weeks begin March 31, 2025. Please expect report cards to be sent home on April 2, 2025.

Geary staff would like to invite everyone to come out to our Bingo Bonanza on March 14, 2025 at Geary School. The doors will open at 4:30 pm and the games begin at 6 pm. Early Bird tickets can be purchased for $20 by calling the school. Tickets at the door will be $25. Check out Geary's Facebook page to see the amazing prizes, with more pictures posted daily! Geary Families just a reminder that the 8th grade is sponsoring the Sweetheart Dance on Friday, February 28, 2025.
Times for the dance are as follows:
K-2's dance will be from 2:30-4:00. A permission slip is required.
3-5's dance will be from 4:30-6:00.
6-8's dance will be from 6:30-8:00.
Admission to the dance will be $5 and concessions will be sold. Sudents may dress up if they wish, but this is not required. Please remember that attire needs to meet the school's dress code. Also, there will be an area set up for selfies.

Geary School has 4 announcements:
1) Band and Choir student fundraiser materials have arrived at the school and are ready for delivery. Your student should have brought them home today if they sold anything.
2) 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band members are invited to participate in all county band on February 28th. A permission slip was sent home Friday of last week and extras are available upon request. Students will be able to ride their bus to the high school and back home afterwards.
3) There will be a Parent/Teacher Conference and Math Night on Feb. 25th from 4-6. Sign up sheets went home with students. Please contact your child's teacher if you need a form.
4) There will be a Parent Advisory Committee meeting on Feb. 26th at 8 am.

Mr. Metzger would like to remind our band members and parents that the band will be playing at the home basketball game, Tuesday the 11th against Elkvalley Christian School. Students will need to be dropped off at the main entrance by 5:30 and will need picked up after the game. Students are requested to wear yellow and black for the game. At Geary School, we will have a parent luncheon on Friday, February 14th. Forms have been sent home with students, and there is also a form in the newsletter that was sent home this week.
If you are planning to attend the luncheon, please return the form and money to school by Monday, so we have an accurate count for the cooks. If you have any questions, please call the school.

Please be reminded that students in grades 3-8 will be taking the State Benchmark Assessment this coming week. Please help your child do their best by making sure they are well rested and at school.
