Good afternoon, We have 2 announcements: First announcement: Lady Panther parents, the first girls basketball practice will begin on Wednesday, November 6th. Practice this week will be from 2:30-4 pm. Students will need to be either picked up or ride the 4 pm bus home. Students must have a current physical in order to practice. Second announcement: Our Veterans Day concert will be Friday, November 8th at 12:30 in the gymnasium. We request students wear red, white, and blue to school. If you would like to attend, please arrive at 12:00. If you know a veteran, please encourage them to attend. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

To begin with, thank you to everyone that came out to make the Trunk or Treat and Haunted Hallway a huge success. We appreciate you supporting our students and school! Tomorrow, students may participate in a Halloween parade beginning at 1:30 pm. Students will be walking in a circle around the main parking lot. If you would like to watch the parade, you may stand around that area to watch. If you want to sign children out afterwards, you will need to go inside to do so. At school, students will engage in activities that promote a drug free and healthy lifestyle. Please partner with us and discuss this message at home, at the dinner table, at family outings, and with friends and extended family. Ask your child about what the school did for Red Ribbon Week each day National Family Partnership is sponsoring a photo contest. Good Afternoon, Geary School has several announcements: 1 - Next week starts spirit week, on Tuesday students are asked to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Students that wear pink to school will be given a free pass to the home volleyball game Tuesday evening. 2 - Home volleyball game against Spencer Middle School on Tuesday, October 14, 2024 (8th grade night) 3 - Middle School 6th-8th band performances this week. Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, band and choir students are to arrive at school between 5:30-5:45 to perform stand tunes at the volleyball game and sing the National Anthem. Friday, October 18, Middle School 6-8th grade band students are invited to perform stand tunes at the Roane county High School Football game. Drop off at front of the high school between 5:45-6:00. This is just a notice that we had a tornado drill today. Throughout the year, we will practice having drills. Students practice these drills to be prepared in case a true emergency happens.

This message is for band students in grades 6-8. Tomorrow at Walton, the 6th-8th grade band is invited to play at the home game. Please arrive between 5:45 and 6:00 and bring a folding chair. Please have students wear green and they must sign in and sign out with Mr. Metzger at the Walton game. There is no game on Friday, October 4th at the high school. Tickets are now being sold by GEMS PBIS for drawings for two fall baskets full of goodies as well as half a beef. Basket tickets are $1 per ticket or 6 for $5 per ticket or 3 for $10. Drawings will be held the week of Black Walnut Festival. The classrooms that sells the most tickets will receive a special treat. Good Evening, Sign-up forms to attend the Grandparents' Day luncheon on Monday, September 9th, were due Friday. However, if your child's grandparents would like to attend and you need another form, please call the school so one can be sent home. Also, if you signed up to purchase a lunch but have not yet paid, please bring payment with you to the luncheon. Meals are $5 each. Thank you!

We will be having a LSIC meeting on Monday, September 9 @ 5 in the cafeteria. We will be electing officers and appointing LSIC members to the council. If you are interested in being an LSIC Member, please plan to join us at the meeting. Our Annual Title 1 and Parent Advisory Committee meeting @ 4 on Wednesday, September 11. Please plan to attend and help determine the activities for this coming school year.
