Good Afternoon, Geary School has several announcements: 1 - Next week starts spirit week, on Tuesday students are asked to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Students that wear pink to school will be given a free pass to the home volleyball game Tuesday evening. 2 - Home volleyball game against Spencer Middle School on Tuesday, October 14, 2024 (8th grade night) 3 - Middle School 6th-8th band performances this week. Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, band and choir students are to arrive at school between 5:30-5:45 to perform stand tunes at the volleyball game and sing the National Anthem. Friday, October 18, Middle School 6-8th grade band students are invited to perform stand tunes at the Roane county High School Football game. Drop off at front of the high school between 5:45-6:00. This is just a notice that we had a tornado drill today. Throughout the year, we will practice having drills. Students practice these drills to be prepared in case a true emergency happens.

This message is for band students in grades 6-8. Tomorrow at Walton, the 6th-8th grade band is invited to play at the home game. Please arrive between 5:45 and 6:00 and bring a folding chair. Please have students wear green and they must sign in and sign out with Mr. Metzger at the Walton game. There is no game on Friday, October 4th at the high school. Tickets are now being sold by GEMS PBIS for drawings for two fall baskets full of goodies as well as half a beef. Basket tickets are $1 per ticket or 6 for $5 per ticket or 3 for $10. Drawings will be held the week of Black Walnut Festival. The classrooms that sells the most tickets will receive a special treat. There will be a PTA meeting today, September 3 @ 4 in the conference room. If you would like to join, please plan to attend. We will be having a LSIC meeting on Monday, September 9 @ 5 in the cafeteria. We will be electing officers and appointing LSIC members to the council. If you are interested in being an LSIC Member, please plan to join us at the meeting. Our Annual Title 1 and Parent Advisory Committee meeting @ 4 on Wednesday, September 11. Please plan to attend and help determine the activities for this coming school year.

Good Evening, Sign-up forms to attend the Grandparents' Day luncheon on Monday, September 9th, were due Friday. However, if your child's grandparents would like to attend and you need another form, please call the school so one can be sent home. Also, if you signed up to purchase a lunch but have not yet paid, please bring payment with you to the luncheon. Meals are $5 each. Thank you!

Good Evening, Geary School has three announcements: Mrs. Boggs and Mrs. Tawney sent a summer reading challenge home with student who will be in grade 1-6 this year. If your child completed the activities, please send these to school as soon as possible so that your child may receive a prize. Geary Elementary will be having a Grandparents' Day luncheon on September 9, 2024. The form to sign up and pay for lunch will be sent home this week. Forms and money will be due by Friday, August 30. We hope to see all our grandparents for lunch that day! On Monday, August 26th, the Athletic Boosters will be having a meeting @6:00 in the Geary Cafeteria. During this meeting we will be electing officers. Please come out and support our Geary Athletes. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Geary Middle School Volleyball tryouts/practice will begin August 12th from 3-5 pm in the Geary gym for 6th-8th grade girls. Players will need tennis shoes, knee pads, and school appropriate athletic clothing (shorts and t-shirt) for practice. Please bring a water bottle as well. Good morning, This is a reminder that free sport physicals are being offered today at the Southern Roane Medical Clinic from 1 to 5 pm. If you are planning to play sports this coming school year, you will need an updated physical. All athletes must be accompanied and have a physical form signed by a parent or guardian to receive their physicals. No appointment is required; just walk in. For more information, call 304.927.6249
