Parent Advisory Committee Notices All parents and guardians are welcome to attend the meetings. They will be held at Geary School in room 111.

Good Evening, Geary School has three announcements: Mrs. Boggs and Mrs. Tawney sent a summer reading challenge home with student who will be in grade 1-6 this year. If your child completed the activities, please send these to school as soon as possible so that your child may receive a prize. Geary Elementary will be having a Grandparents' Day luncheon on September 9, 2024. The form to sign up and pay for lunch will be sent home this week. Forms and money will be due by Friday, August 30. We hope to see all our grandparents for lunch that day! On Monday, August 26th, the Athletic Boosters will be having a meeting @6:00 in the Geary Cafeteria. During this meeting we will be electing officers. Please come out and support our Geary Athletes. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Geary Middle School Volleyball tryouts/practice will begin August 12th from 3-5 pm in the Geary gym for 6th-8th grade girls. Players will need tennis shoes, knee pads, and school appropriate athletic clothing (shorts and t-shirt) for practice. Please bring a water bottle as well. In order to participate athletes MUST bring a current physical form on the first day of practice. If you have any questions, please call the school at 304.565.3721.

Geary Middle School If you have a student in grades 6-8 that is interested in playing middle school soccer please send a message to Annette Claypool, sacaldwe@k12.wv.us. Practice will be at Spencer Middle School and begin at 5:30 each evening. Thank you

Good Morning, Geary School has an announcement for middle school students interested in playing football this coming year. They will be having first sign ups and helmet fitting Friday, July 19th from 6-8 at the Walton Middle School field house. Thank you and have a great day.

Good morning, This is a reminder that free sport physicals are being offered today at the Southern Roane Medical Clinic from 1 to 5 pm. If you are planning to play sports this coming school year, you will need an updated physical. All athletes must be accompanied and have a physical form signed by a parent or guardian to receive their physicals. No appointment is required; just walk in. For more information, call 304.927.6249

Good Morning 8th grade parents, With graduation Monday evening, we wanted to let you know that Mrs. Keaton has offered to give haircuts to any students in need. If you would like for your child to receive a haircut on Monday, please sent a permission note with your child to school on Monday. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

This is a reminder for 8th grade parents. Mr. Epling and Mrs. Boggs will meet with 8th grade parents and students tomorrow, May 16, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the gymnasium. PAC Meeting There will be a Parent Advisory Committee meeting on Monday @ 9 am. The agenda will cover the strategic plan, School Compact Brochure, and recommended activities for the up coming 2024-2025 school year. We hope to see you there.

Monday May 20th, upcoming freshman band members are asked to attend mini band camp. Due to 8th grade graduation taking place later that evening, students are only asked to attend from 4:00-4:45 PM. Summer schedules and paperwork will be given at this time.

The middle school band and choir awards banquet will be on Wednesday May 15th at 4:30 in the cafeteria. Parents and family are invited to attend. The middle school band and choir spring concert will be on Thursday May 16th at 3:00 in the cafeteria. Band and choir students are asked to stay after school with Mr. Metzger and bring their concert attire, white tops and black bottoms. The late bus will be available for your student if needed.

Good Morning, We are taking class pictures today. If you were not able to send money in for your child's class picture today, you can send it in on Friday, May 3rd. The cost for a picture is $10. If your child's newsletter hasn't make it home, please look for it today with the class picture form. You can also send the money in with a note. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Good evening, The GEMS athletic boosters are sponsoring a Spring Formal dance on Friday, April 26th. Admission is $5.00 and concessions will be served. Times for grade levels are: Kindergarten - 2nd 2:30 - 4pm, 3rd - 5th 4:30 - 6:00pm, and 6th - 8th 6:30 - 8pm. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students may stay after school for the dance if they return a permission slip. If your child wants to participate in the Mr. And Ms. Panther court at the dance, votes are a penny a vote and money is due to the school by Wednesday the 24th at 3pm. Good Afternoon, We wanted to let you know that this coming week students will be able to use the gym since it has been refinished. All students using the gym will need either gym shoes which they can leave in their locker when not used or socks with or without grippies on the bottom. Students will not be able to wear their street shoes on the new gym floor. We hope everyone has a wonderful day.
