PAC Meeting
There will be a Parent Advisory Committee meeting on Monday @ 9 am. The agenda will cover the strategic plan, School Compact Brochure, and recommended activities for the up coming 2024-2025 school year. We hope to see you there.
Monday May 20th, upcoming freshman band members are asked to attend mini band camp. Due to 8th grade graduation taking place later that evening, students are only asked to attend from 4:00-4:45 PM. Summer schedules and paperwork will be given at this time.
The middle school band and choir awards banquet will be on Wednesday May 15th at 4:30 in the cafeteria. Parents and family are invited to attend.
The middle school band and choir spring concert will be on Thursday May 16th at 3:00 in the cafeteria. Band and choir students are asked to stay after school with Mr. Metzger and bring their concert attire, white tops and black bottoms. The late bus will be available for your student if needed.

If your child's newsletter hasn't make it home, please look for it today with the class picture form. You can also send the money in with a note.

The GEMS athletic boosters are sponsoring a Spring Formal dance on Friday, April 26th. Admission is $5.00 and concessions will be served. Times for grade levels are: Kindergarten - 2nd 2:30 - 4pm, 3rd - 5th 4:30 - 6:00pm, and 6th - 8th 6:30 - 8pm. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students may stay after school for the dance if they return a permission slip. If your child wants to participate in the Mr. And Ms. Panther court at the dance, votes are a penny a vote and money is due to the school by Wednesday the 24th at 3pm. We wanted to let you know that this coming week students will be able to use the gym since it has been refinished. All students using the gym will need either gym shoes which they can leave in their locker when not used or socks with or without grippies on the bottom. Students will not be able to wear their street shoes on the new gym floor.

This was a planned lock down drill to provide staff and students the opportunity to practice what to do in case of an emergency. We conduct these drills every school year. On April 15 and 16, our Smile WV Mobile Dentist will be at Geary School. They will perform routine cleanings, check for cavities and over teeth and gum health. If your child has seen the dentist earlier this year, it would be time for their 6 month check up.
